Chinese scientists have released a dental robot

In China a new generation robot-surgeon has been tested successfully. According to The Tech Times, the robot performed a dental surgery without any problems (an implant installation).

The robot is a development of the Beyhang University in Beijing and the Fourth Military Medical University in Xi'an. Before the operation, the robot was programmed for certain movements (angle and depth of impact). It was necessary to implant two artificial teeth printed on a three-dimensional printer.

The system could adjust the work according to the patient's movements. The operation was completed in an hour without any human intervention. The robot has shown the highest accuracy (error made 0.2-0.3 millimeters). Powerful lenses and accurate motion allowed the robot to operate as efficiently as possible in the straitened conditions of the oral cavity.
