On November 26, 2018, a seminar on the etiology, pathogenesis, modern treatment of urolithiasis, and the use of phytocomposition-based products for the prevention of urinary stones re-formation was held for general practitioners and family practitioners in Zaporizhia.

The seminar was attended by family doctors of Zaporizhzhia and Zaporizhzhia region.

Urolithiasis (nephrolithiasis) is a chronic disease characterized by the deposition of stones in the kidneys and urinary tract. It is diagnosed in 30-40% of patients with a urological profile. Urolithiasis has a steady tendency to recurrence; therefore, the current task is its prevention and metaphylaxis.

In the framework of this seminar, an associate professor of the Department of Urology and Reproductive Medicine of Zaporizhzhia Medical Academy, Ph.D. Nikiforov Oleg Anatoliyevich made an interesting presentation “Urolithiasis. The course and prevalence peculiarities. The main aspects of treatment. Prevention of the disease by using Nokamen food supplement".

The lecture led to a lively discussion. Metaphylaxis of urolithiasis in patients after removal of stones was actively discussed, since these patients are a risk group.
