Lysine is able to destroy staphylococcus

Lysines are special amino acids secreted by plant and animal cells and capable to lyse foreign cells. Biotech Company ContraFest Corporation has designed an innovative enzyme – a recombinant exebacase (CF-301). A phase 2 randomized double-blind placebo-controlled study has been carried in randomly selected 86 patients. In addition to standard antibiotics, the patients received placebo or a two-hour single infusion of exebacase.

The researchers have reported that Staphylococcus aureus patients treated with exebacase were able to achieve resolution of infection symptoms twice as fast compared to the patients taking placebo. According to the scientists, the symptoms disappeared in 94.3% of patients treated with exebacase and 87.9% of patients taking placebo. The average time to symptom resolution was 3 days for participants treated with exebacase and 6 days for those who received placebo.
