New method to treat COVID-19

Lame Winter Company has created a unique drug against COVID-19. The drug’s composition contains the Brazilian viper jararacussu (Bothrops jararacussu). Its poison can be more effective than existing drugs.

Brazilian scientists have found that a molecule isolated from snake venom slows down the multiplication of coronavirus by 75% in monkey cells. This could be the first step towards a cure for COVID-19. This molecule is a peptide that is able to bind to an enzyme vital for coronavirus called PLPro. The peptide is synthesized in the laboratory without the need for capturing or special breeding of “farm” specimens of Bothrops jararacussu. In the future, scientists plan to evaluate the effectiveness of various doses of the molecule and the ability to prevent the virus from entering cells as well.
