Scientist have found a way to stop aging
American scientists have found that coenzyme NAD+ is the main factor in the process of youth preservation and of delay of aging. As demonstrated by recent research, it helps to stay young longer and prolongs life. Most likely, this discovery might lead to the development of new methods of treatment for age-related neurodegenerative illnesses, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
Researchers injected NAD+ in mice and ascarids in vitro. Scientists have noticed that, thanks to coenzyme the aging process was started later. Furthermore, NAD+ increased life expectancy in tested animals.
Earlier, the experts at Brown University (USA) have reported that aging process is accelerated by transposons, also known as "jumping genes" that can move on the genome. The consequences of their movement disrupt the cells. Antiretroviral drug 3TC can reduce transposon activity.
