Scientists have created a universal flu vaccine

Scientists have succeeded in creating a universal vaccine against all 20 types of influenza.

The vaccine, based on the same mRNA technology that has been successfully used in vaccines against coronavirus, contains elements of all known viruses and, in particular, should protect even against new strains that can cause a pandemic, the BBC reports.

All current vaccines require constant updating to keep up with virus mutations. However, they are unlikely to offer the same reliable protection. So far, the new vaccine has only been tested on laboratory animals, so human clinical trials are ahead. However, according to experts, a universal vaccine may appear as early as 2024.
