HERBAL COUGH SYRUP FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS

(sugar free)

 

Each 5 ml of syrup contain:

extracts:

Ocimum sanctum – 200 mg

Adhatoda vasica leaf – 200 mg

Glycyrrhiza glabra root – 200 mg

Terminalia belerica fruit – 100 mg

Curcuma longa rhizome – 75 mg

Piper nigrum fruit – 50 mg

Zingiber officinale rhizome – 50 mg

Piper longum fruit – 50 mg

Piper cubeba fruit – 50 mg

Zizyphus sativa fruit – 50 mg

Hedychium spicatum root – 50 mg

Pistacia integerrima gall – 50 mg

Ammonium chloride – 5 mg

Excipients: purified water, sorbitol sweetener, propylene glycol emulsifier, glycerine moisturizing agent, basil flavour, sodium benzoate preservative, xanthan gum thickener, fruit mix flavour, aspartame sweetener, menthol flavour.

 

Characteristics of ingredients:

Ocimum sanctum

Chemical composition: tannins (4.5%) and essential oils (up to 2%) containing 75-80% of eugenol, methyl eugenol and α- and β-caryophyllene (up to 42%), iso-caryophyllene, and metilhavicol, camphor, linalool and cineol. It has expectorative and antifebrile effects.

Adhatoda vasica leaf

Chemical composition: alkaloids, peganon quinazoline derivatives – vasicine, vasicinol, vasicinon, and essential oil. Ambroxol is a main metabolite of vasicine. Adhatoda has anti-inflammatory, expectorative, diuretic and anti-asthmatic effects.

Glycyrrhiza glabra root

Chemical composition: triterpene saponins (23%) – glycyrrhizin and glycyrrhizic acid and its aglycone – glycyrrhetinic acid. Triterpenes include glyceretol, glabrolid, licorieic acid and livic acid. There are also mono- and disaccharides, pectins, resins, lipids. Liquorice preparations have expectorative, antiallergic, anti-inflammatory and spasmolytic effects.

Terminalia belerica fruit

Chemical composition: hydrolysed tannins (30-40%), gallic, ellagic and hebulagic acids. They have antipyretic and astringent effects. It is used for upper respiratory tract infections associated with cough.

Curcuma longa rhizome

Chemical composition: essential oil (1.5-5%) containing sesquiterpenes – bisabolen, guayan, arturmeron, β-turmeron, α-turmeron, borneol, and yellow pigments or curcuminides (up to 4.5%), such as curcumin. It has antiviral and immunomodulatory effects.

Piper nigrum fruit

Chemical composition: piperidine alkaloids, such as piperine (5-9%), essential oil (0.9-2.5%), resin (1-2%), fatty oil (6-12%) and starch. Fruits have a high bactericidal activity, and exhibit expectorative, analgesic, diuretic and anti-inflammatory effects.

Zingiber officinale rhizome

Chemical composition: lecithin, free fatty acids, such as palmitic, caprine, myristinic, pentadecanic, heptadecanic and arachidonic acids. It has anti-inflammatory, expectorative and spasmolytic effects. It is used to prevent colds.

Piper longum fruit

Chemical composition: alkaloids of this species contain piperine (3-5%) and essential oil. In addition to piperin these alkaloids contain metilipiperine, piperidine and others. It is used for respiratory tract diseases associated with cough (bronchitis, bronchial asthma).

Piper cubeba fruit

Chemical composition: lignan - cubebin (2,5%), humic-like acid (up to 14%), essential oil containing camphor and menthol, cadenine, limonene and phellandren. Fruits have an expectorative effect in bronchitis.

Zizyphus sativa fruit

Chemical composition: flavonoids, saponins, mucus, vitamins A, B, ascorbic acid, protein, sugar and fatty oil. Fruits have tonic and soothing effects and a sedative effect as well. Also, they exert an alleviant action in bronchitis, tracheitis, and throat diseases.

Pistacia integerrima

Chemical composition: tannin (50-70%), gallic acid (2-4%), diagallic acid, resins and starch. It is used as an expectorant, sedative and tonic for respiratory diseases, anemia, asthenia and others.

Hedychium spicatum root

Chemical composition: starch, glucose, protein substances, fat, resin (6%), gum (13%) and organic acids. It is used for febrile and colds, and as a tonic.

Ammonium chloride

It has diuretic and expectoration effects.

 

Recommendations for use: the product can be recommended as a source of biologically active substances of herbal origin. The product contributes to the normalization of the respiratory tract functioning and alleviates coughing.

It is recommended to consult your doctor before use.

Contraindications: the product is contraindicated for people with individual hypersensitivity to the components, children under 3 years of age, pregnant and lactating women.

Warnings: do not exceed the recommended daily dose (serving). The product is not a substitute for a balanced diet.

Directions: take after meals. Shake well before use.

Children from 3 to 6 years of age – 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoon) 3 times a day;

Children from 6 to 12 years of age – 5 ml (1 teaspoon) 3 times a day;

Children over 12 years of age and adults – 10 ml (2 teaspoons) 3 times a day.

Duration of use: 5 - 7 days. The further period of use and possibility of repeated courses should be discussed with your doctor.

Release form: 100 ml herbal syrup in a flask

Storage: store in a place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C in the original manufacturer’s packaging. 

Keep out of reach of children.
